Short Interest Rises

Short interest rose in the first half of August:

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Short interest on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq rose in early August, a period that nonetheless saw an increase in U.S. stock prices, the exchanges said late Tuesday.

Market Acting Toppy

The last two days of market action are quite disappointing after the breakout last week. Both days have seen shots higher in the morning and closes near the lows. In candlestick charting those are known as shooting star days and they are generally bearish.
